This part of the process is fun and exciting for most of our customers. Decide the type of stone and the dominant color you prefer, then choose the actual slab to be used (see the
page for specific product details).
Making your selection is a tactile as well as a visual experience. There is no substitute for actually seeing and touching the slab. Each slab is different and the color variations appear at different light levels. We recommend that you choose your slab in person.
If your tastes run along the lines of exotic stones and other materials that have a reputation for lots of patterns and color variations, it’s even more crucial to see and approve the actual slab before fabrication begins.
For stone types that feature very consistent patterns and colors, a sample can suffice. Many popular stones – such as Ubatuba, Absolute Black, Butterfly Green, Cranberry Brown, and manufactured stone products – have very consistent patterns and colors. With advice from your designer, you can safely choose from these products from a photo or sample tile. Colors can vary dramatically – even in the same type of stone from the same quarry.
Take advantage of viewing up to 250 colors in full slabs at the warehouse of a local stone distributor. Once you choose a slab, they’ll tag it with our name and yours. They’ll ship it to our facility in a few days and then fabrication can begin.
If you decide to make your selection without viewing the full slab, consider verifying the tone. Typically, we can provide a small slab sample for your approval.
Our expert craftsmen have a proven knack for choosing where to cut the various shapes of your project from the full slab. For stones with lots of “movement,” this is critical – particularly where seams are required. Trust us to make the best possible choice.
